Dr. Anand Vaishnav

Dr. Anand Vaishnav is a Neurologist with further specialization is Vascular (Stroke) Neurology. He has passed boards conducted by the American Board of Neurology both in Neurology as well as Vascular Neurology and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Neurology and Vascular Neurology.

Dr. Vaishnav did his M.B.B.S. from M.S. University, Vadodara and moved to United States. After completing his Neurology Residency and Stroke Fellowship at the Oregon Stroke Center, he took up a faculty position at the Department of Neurology at University of Kentucky and he subsequently became the Medical Director of the Stroke Service at University of Kentucky Hospital. He was instrumental in opening up the Stroke Unit at University of Kentucky Hospital and in establishing University of Kentucky as a Stroke Center. He then moved to University of Louisville where he took over the position of the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Neurology. He also was the Director of Neurology Clerkship for Medical Students at University of Louisville.

He has been recognized both at University of Kentucky and American Academy of Neurology for his teaching skills. His specific research interests include clinical outcomes in stroke, stroke epidemiology and stroke in young individuals and has numerous publications in the field of stroke. He has actively presented at both national and international conferences and has been an active investigator in stroke (acute and prevention) international clinical trials.

Dr. Vaishnav moved back to India in 2013. He has started the Vadodara Stroke Registry and presently is part of the The INSTRuCT Network which has been created to conduct small and large clinical trials and research studies to advance acute stroke treatment, stroke prevention, and recovery and rehabilitation in India.
