Migraine and other Headaches:

Headache can be due to numerous causes. It can be benign or serious .
There are certain red flags signs for which you need to consult neurologist on priority basis..
Headache which is sudden onset, associated with fever /vomiting , rapidly progressing , associated with vision disturbance/seizure or memory deficits etc.

Most Headaches are primary like migraine, tension type Headache, Cluster Headache etc .

Headaches which are episodic , associated with nausea/vomiting , sound or light sensitivity can be due to migraine..

I have headache for the last 4-5 years: once of time in a month. It usually starts while travelling. Should I go for MRI?

These symptoms are clearly of migraine and in migraine MRI or CT Scan is normal, so there is no need of MRI.

Is Migraine curable?

Migraine can be well controlled with medicines & by avoiding triggers but not completely curable.

Doctor, I am diagnosed by Neurologist as ‘Tension TYPE HEADACHE’. My MRI is also normal, but I don’t have any TENSION, What is it?

‘TENSION TYPE HEADACHE’ is a term which is used for chronic nonspecific heaviness or tightness over head. Patient may or may not have stress.
